Valorant Crowned Best Esport At The Esports Awards

Not only did Riot's FPS win almost every esports-related award at The Game Awards, but they were also the big winners at the more focused Esports Awards ceremony.

It was a fantastic year for Valorant esports, and if winning most of the specialized categories at The Game Awards wasn't enough, the Riot Games tactical shooter ended up winning Best Esport at the, well, Esports Awards!

The ceremony was held this past December 13. A ceremony to celebrate the best of the best within the esports awards, it was no surprise that Valorant came out on top similarly to how they did at The Game Awards.

As we've mentioned ad-nauseam before, 2022 was a fantastic year for Valorant esports as a whole. From amazing international events to incredible rivalries forming in each tournament, if there was ever a year for Valorant to be recognized, it was this one.

Of course, Valorant wasn't the only thing that took home one of the bulky Esports Awards, as LOUD would repeat the same feat they managed at The Game Awards, taking the Best Esports Team of the Year, off the back of their victory at Valorant Champions against OpTic Gaming.

Finally, caster Lauren "Pansy" Scott was awarded the esports play-by-play caster of the year. Pansy was present in all major international events, including the two Masters, Valorant Champions, and Game Changer Championships, becoming a fan-favorite caster within the community.

Overall, congratulations to all winners! Here's hoping that, with all changes coming to the Valorant Champions Tour in 2023, more awards and excitement are coming our way.
