Perhaps you've been hearing it a lot while watching Valorant Champions but are not exactly sure what casters and analysts are talking about - what is a bonus round?

Similar to other terms like pistols, eco, force buys, and more, bonus rounds are part of the extensive Valorant terminology that surrounds its economy and how your team spends their credits each round.

Let's walk you through what you need to know about bonus rounds in Valorant.

Valorant Bonus Round - How Do They Work

Let's say you start a game or are running a pistol round after changing sides. You win it, all good! You got a very important round to get the ball rolling - now it's time to force Spectre's and get a free round against a team that'll probably save their credits to buy rifles and utility the next round.

This is a bonus round for your team, it means that after winning your first two initial rounds, you decided to stay with your guns and utility and are playing at a disadvantage this time - however, you'll bank enough credits to have full buys the next few rounds.

It's a low-risk high-reward move for your team - win and you've completely boomed the enemy teams both in terms of economy and mentality. You'll get to pick some of their rifles up while continuously stacking credits. Lose? No problem, you invested nothing at all and can come back with full force next round!

Of course, nothing's stopping you from ditching your Spectre's or Marshalls going into the third round if you wish to do so, but you'll be risking losing that credits advantage when you already had guns in hand, albeit not as strong as either a Vandal or a Phantom.

Now that you know what a bonus round is, we hope you can start implementing this concept in your ranked games!
