Valorant Challengers 2023 NA Split 1: Schedule, Format, Teams & More

Now that the Open Qualifiers are done, it's time to determine who's the top dog in North America in the Challengers Split 1.

As we inch closer to the start of the VCT International Leagues, the tier 2 scene has been firing from all cylinders for some weeks, with the Challengers 2023 Split 1 about to kick off in North America.

If you've been out of the loop, the Challengers circuit will feature the best non-franchised teams of North America, six invited plus six more qualified via the Open Qualifiers, to compete for a potential chance to earn a promotion to the International Leagues starting in 2024.

Valorant Challengers North America Split 1: Schedule, Teams & Format

The first split of the NA Challengers tour will be played starting on February 1, and ending on March 17. A total of 12 teams will compete to earn VCL points in order to qualify for other major events, such as the Mid-Season Invitational.

The organizations that will be participating were divided into two groups of six. These are:

Group A

  • FaZe Clan (Invited)
  • Shopify Rebellion (Invited)
  • G2 Esports (Invited)
  • BreakThru (Qualified)
  • Oxygen Esports (Qualified)
  • Turtle Troops (Qualified)

Group B

  • TSM (Invited)
  • The Guard (Invited)
  • M80 (Invited)
  • Disguised (Qualified)
  • MAD Lions (Qualified)
  • ORESports (Qualified)

The schedule per week is as follows:

Week 1 results :

February 1

  • FaZe Clan 1-2 G2 Esports
  • The Guard 2-0 Disguised

February 2:

  • TSM 2-1 MAD Lions
  • BreakThru 2-0 Oxygen Esports

February 3:

  • Shopify Rebellion vs Turtle Troops
  • M80 vs ORESports

At the moment, there is no confirmed prize pool for the event but we'll update once more information once it's revealed.

As for other implications, the top four teams from each group will qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational, opening a new avenue for them to get more avenues for them to earn VCL points.
